From the East – November 2013
Greetings brethren,
Allow me to be the first to wish an advance Holiday Greetings to all. As we are approaching the Holidays, we have to revisit and reflect all the teachings and virtues of our Craft. The past month of October was a very good one if for only one reason and that was the Proficiency of Bro. Carlos Villegas with his coach W. Larry Snowden. It was much awaited but was finally accomplished mainly through persistence and dedication. We must encourage other Brethren who are in waiting for Proficiencies and provide as much assistance as needed.
We did not do any Degree conferrals for the past month as circumstances dictated otherwise, we opened and closed on the designated schedule with continuation of Fellowship and Education. I thank Bro. Kaltenbach for his lectures on the Further Light in Masonry with the hope that he can continue as needed for next year. November will be busy for us, we have the stated meeting in which we will be addressing forthcoming Grand Lodge Resolutions and the sponsorship of De Molay Chapter, followed by Grand Lodge on the 11th and 12th, our Thanksgiving Dinner will be on the 13th. We will have a possible Fellowcraft Degree on the 20th and we will be dark on the 27th the Eve of Thanksgiving.
I encourage all Brethren from our Lodge to come, attend and participate at Grand Lodge sessions, as it offers education, fellowship and a chance to see first-hand at how our Grand Lodge works. In addition I recognize all Brethren who were also Veterans, the Lodge thanks you for your service and dedication. I wish a Happy Birthday to all Brethren for the month of November. Our Junior Warden is still accepting dry goods and clothing for charity, please contact him if you are able or interested. That is all I have for now, and I’ll see you all at our Lodge or at the Grand Lodge at Orleans Casino.
Fraternally and Sincerely,
Isaias R. Vargas JR
