Officer’s Messages – February 2019

From the East
WM Eric Willson

I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who contributed to a successful stated meeting and Entered Apprentice Degree in January.  The work was exceptional and was well received by our several guests.

This month we will be moving forward with our first education night of the year, which will be held on the second Wednesday.  All Masons are welcome.

It warmed my heart to see the participation last month.  Let’s keep up the enthusiasm!

Moving from the South the West, I must admit that my perspective of the Lodge changes. In the South, everything is happening to the left and the right. In the West, everything is directly ahead.

But the physical location is only part of it. Each role in the Lodge serves a purpose and has its own unique responsibilities. The Deacons are concerned with the doors and good order. The Stewards with Candidates, and so on. If each of us in our own duties and in our own perspectives’ functions well, the Lodge will function well.

As this new year begins in the Lodge, consider well the new roles and perspectives that you should develop, if you are in a chair. And if you are on the sidelines, how can you help the craft with understanding their roles as well?
