Officer’s Messages – October 2017

From the East
WM Tony York

Greetings from the East,

It has been great to get back at the Lodge and to see everyone at the Dinner and Lodge events. Lots of great events occurring in Lodge and would love for you to come see the happenings. We are very excited to have a Master Mason Degree on October 18, 2017 presented by all Past Masters. If you are a Past Master (open to all PMs not lodge specific) and would like to be involved, it is not too late please contact Eric Holder PM to participate.

I take this time to share a quote attributed to our Brother Benjamin Franklin – “Masonic labor is purely a labor of love. He who seeks to draw Masonic wages in gold and silver will be disappointed. The wages of a Mason are in the dealings with one another …..” Isn’t this still true today my brothers…It is in our relationships that we find the true treasures of this world.

Just a reminder, the 153rd Annual Communication of the Nevada Grand Lodge is quickly approaching and will be held November 13-14, at the Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Please come and support of our Brother and Most Worshipful Grand Master Gerald Ogle. Registration information is available at Nevada Grand Lodge website.

Fraternally,
Anthony (Tony) York W.M.

From the West
Bro Dennis Ashley

Greetings Brethren,

Occasionally I’m asked what interested me in joining our organization. My answer usually was to better myself; but after being a Mason for a while I now
know it was meant for me to put my mind, hands and heart to work in ways that will bring pure joy and satisfaction to myself and family. No question!

When a man volunteers as a member of Freemasonry he accepts the responsibility to make something happen. Volunteering is synonymous with American greatness, it is also a unifying force for a community. We have both the facility and the capacity to be important in our community, and as many active Masons are retired we certainly have the time.

The important goal is make the community feel as if they are part of the
organization, understanding our goals and missions, and why their husbands,
fathers and brothers are members, though they recognize membership may not be open to them.

The evidence is clearly in our favor “fellowship” and “involvement in the community” yields great results!

From the South
Bro Eric Willson

Greetings from the South. We all have a busy schedule ahead of us this holiday season, both at lodge and at home. As we go about our business, try to keep in mind that fellowship and fun should always be at the front of our thoughts. And what better time or place for fellowship than our monthly meals!? This month we will be having cheeseburgers prior to the stated meeting. The second Wednesday is our family dinner, and will consist of several soups along with a sandwich and salad bar. Invite your families!
